Message from the Principal

Once a Titan, Always a Titan!

Greetings Tesoro Families,

I am writing today to introduce myself and to state that I am excited to announce that I will be serving as Interim Principal for the next few months. As many of you know, I am returning to Tesoro where I proudly served as Principal from 2001 through 2013, when I retired.

As a retiree, I am limited to the number of days that I can work so I will be using those days strategically as I plan to be with you until March. During this time, my primary mission will be to keep Tesoro on track as the premier high school of Orange County.  We will do so by staying true to our school motto, “Do the Right and Proper Thing.” It is my belief and hope that my reputation is one of a leader who listens equally to everyone -- students, parents, and staff -- and that my decisions are driven by what is best for students.

A school like Tesoro requires and deserves the very best leader. To fulfill that goal, plans are in place to find the exact right person to lead Tesoro into the future. At present there are several different plans and timelines being considered to name a permanent principal. As plans for the search become finalized, I will share them with you.

In closing, I would like to thank Mr. Rich Bellante for his work in opening the school and reaching out to our students, parents, and staff.  Many of you have commented that his work was greatly appreciated.

I am proud to serve once again.

Go Titans!

Dr. Dan Burch

Interim Principal
