A Cal Grant is money for college THAT DOES not NEED TO BE PAID BACK!   To qualify, you must apply for the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or California Dream Act Application (CADAA) by the deadline and meet the eligibility and financial requirements as well as any minimum GPA requirements. Cal Grants can be used at any University of California, California State University or California Community College, as well as qualifying independent and career colleges or technical schools in California.

More information can be found at

Cal Grant Opt Out Form

Assembly Bill 2160 was signed into law in September 2014 mandating that all public schools electronically submit grade point averages (GPAs) for grade twelve students to the California Student Aid Commission (CSAC).  The bill also requires the school district to notify parents in writing of opt-out requirements for current grade eleventh students.  The district created the attached form for parents to opt out of the mandate if desired.

Please return your opt-out form to Valerie DeLeon in the Guidance office by December 21st, 2017 . Please see more information about the Cal Grant below.
